Advisory Council

With the understanding that different perspectives are critical for program development, The Apareció Foundation has established The Apareció Foundation's Advisory Council. The Advisory Council is comprised of a group of dedicated, energetic professionals with expertise and strategic interests in education.

The primary role of the Advisory Council is to proactively increase the visibility and relevance of the program. The Advisory Council provides a forum to share ideas, suggestions and evaluations. They also develop opportunities for collaboration regarding grant-making, charitable giving and various matters of common interest to the directors and officers of the Foundation.

Academic Success

Although the percentage of racial/ethnic minority and low-income high school graduates with aspirations to complete a bachelor’s degree or higher increased significantly from 1980 to 2002, this shift has not resulted in a high degree of academic success for these students at the university level.
